It clears bone quickly and the jaws align well. The larger bite is less suited to the finest canal work, where I switch to a Kerrison.

The double-action jaws take substantial bites of lamina with modest hand effort, which speeds up a dorsal laminectomy. The cutting edges have stayed sharp through many spinal cases.

Strong and comfortable
The double-action mechanism reduces fatigue when removing dense cortical bone. A slightly finer tip would complement it for delicate work near the cord.
